Telnet

Telnet is used to navigate and transfer files between servers. It is frequently as a means of deploying sales order processing systems across a wide-area network. For, example, if you purchase a holiday in a travel agency branch, your booking may be placed on a computer at head-office using telnet to access the central computer. Telnet is of limited relevance to Internet marketing since, in most cases it is impractical for individuals to use telnet to undertake electronic commerce. It is much easier if this facility is implemented within the browser using HTML, CGI or Java applications.
