Improve Loan Review Performance

BAI has developed a comprehensive, four-step educational program for loan review personnel. The Loan Review Certificate Program will accelerate the development of your loan review staff, enhance the quality of reviews, improve early detection of deteriorating loans, thereby contributing to the overall safety and soundness of the loan portfolio so that it passes regulatory scrutiny. It is the only recognized loan review certificate program in the United States. Graduates will be awarded the Certificate in Loan Review signifying a high level of expertise in loan review practices and procedures that serve as the standard for the financial services industry.

The Loan Review Certificate Program consists of:

  • Proficiency test (to bypass Certificate Course I)
    or

  • Certificate Course I: A three-day introductory course (required course if proficiency test is failed)

  • Certificate Course II: A four-day advanced course

  • Certificate Final Examination: Loan review case study extension problems (requested at students discretion after completion of Certificate Course II)

  • The Certificate in Loan Review covers a broad range of commercial lending issues every loan review officer should thoroughly understand to be successful. Case studies will be used extensively in both Course I and Course II to fully develop the concepts being taught. The extension problems, completed by the participant independently, further prepare the student to meet real-life challenges in the workplace. Who Should Get a Certificate?

The Loan Review Certificate Program is a valuable educational opportunity for commercial loan review and lending personnel. This program is also an excellent professional enhancement for national and state banking regulators. Those who have completed Loan Review Certificate Course I may enroll directly in Loan Review Certificate Course II. A proficiency test is available for those with three years of experience in either one, or a combination of, commercial lending and loan review, or as a bank examiner.
